In the realm of supercars, where speed and power rule, a new contestant is emerging called the Zenvo Aurora. Amidst a plethora of high-performance vehicles, Zenvo aims to capture the attention of discerning buyers seeking a unique experience by offering a combination of the lightning-fast acceleration of electric vehicles with the heart-pounding roar of a specially crafted V-12 engine.
Powerful V-12 heart
At the core of the Zenvo Aurora's electrified powertrain lies a custom V-12 engine designed in collaboration with German supplier Mahle.
This exceptional powerplant features an innovative 90-degree bank angle and a "hot-vee" setup, allowing exhaust plumbing and compact turbos to nestle within the V-formation which not only delivers an impressive 1,250 horsepower and 885 lb-ft of torque but also enables the engine to meet strict emissions standards using Mahle's Jet Ignition system.
Electric dynamism
The company has introduced the Zenvo Aurora in two versions – the track-focused Agil and the more comfort-oriented Tur. The Agil features a single electric motor nestled between the engine and a seven-speed sequential manual transmission, while the Tur has two more motors to the front wheels.
Each motor targets 200 horsepower and collaborates with a battery capable of offering approximately 22 miles of electric range. The lightweight carbon monocoque and advanced weight-saving measures ensure the car's agility and performance.
Lightning on wheels
The Aurora's acceleration is breathtaking with a focus on delivering both speed and usability. Zenvo estimates that the rear-wheel-drive Agil version can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 227 mph. The achieves 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and hits a top speed of 280 mph for the Tur variant.
Innovative design and features
The Zenvo Aurora's aesthetic is as exhilarating as its functionality. The carbon-fibre monocoque, developed in cooperation with Managing Composites, ensures strength and lightness.
Inside, the analogue gauges offer a refreshing break from digital overload, while smart swivelling gauge pods provide vital information. The bodywork cleverly incorporates aerodynamic elements, such as air channels for radiator cooling and strategic airflow.
Limited and exclusive
Zenvo intends to manufacture only 50 units of both the Agil and Tur versions of the Aurora, setting the hypercar's exclusivity in stone.
Starting at €2,590,000 (approximately $2.82 million), the Aurora combines the allure of a powerful V-12 with the eco-consciousness of electrification — a masterpiece that caters to a select few who seek the ultimate driving experience.
