The Engineering Council of Pakistan (PEC) has launched a new free online training program on generative artificial intelligence (AI) for engineers in Pakistan.

Developed in partnership with PakAngels Silicon Valley USA, iCode Guru, and Aspire Pakistan, the program will help new engineers across the country develop and enhance their skills in emerging fields.

The program will also provide the students with the knowledge to meet global demands and improve their employment prospects according to international standards, said PEC officials.

The duration of the program will be around 12 months and it aims to train 15,000 engineers across Pakistan in generative AI. Participants completing the program will be provided certificates recognised internationally, ensuring they cash their skills and thrive in the field.

The PEC officials highlighted that this would expose engineers to advanced AI technology, and its diverse applications while providing practical experience in model-building techniques.

The program will consist of an introduction to generative AI, an overview of generative models, and hands-on exercises for the practical application of the information.

The course is specially designed for PEC-registered engineers, university faculties, engineering managers, students, corporate partners and engineering managers.
