The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed for public dealing on July 1, 2024 (Monday), which shall be observed as bank holiday.
The central bank issued a statement on Friday, stating that all banks will remain closed.
"All banks/DFIs/MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date. However, employees of the banks/DFIs/MFBs will attend the office as usual," the statement read.
Banks will resume normal public transactions on Tuesday, July 2, after a three-day break, including the regular weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier today, the SBP issued a statement confirming that to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of government duties/taxes through Alternate Delivery Channels (ADC’s) and Over-the-Counter facilities, it has been decided that all banks shall observe the following banking hours on June 28-30 2024.
"For the purpose of closing exercise of FY24 on July 1, 2024, SBP and PRISM will be operating in the value date June 30, 2024. Banks are advised to accordingly define 29 [and] 30 June, 2024 as working days in their systems to enable settlement of special clearing with aforesaid schedule," the statement read.
