Apex Legends is a popular online multiplayer battle royale game where players compete in teams to be the last standing. Recently, a game update caused widespread panic among players as many experienced significant account resets, losing months of progress and battle pass rewards.

Earlier today, Apex Legends players encountered a troubling message about “cross-progression,” which led to many discovering that their account progress had been reset.

The issue was so severe that some players lost hundreds of account levels, battle pass progress, and even rare game items like heirlooms. The games subreddit had to be locked down to manage the influx of panic posts from affected players.

Responding to the crisis, developer Respawn issued an update to prevent further account wipes. However, for players who had already lost progress, Respawn urged patience as they worked on a fix to restore accounts to their previous state.

The incident adds to a string of recent challenges for Apex Legends, including a major tournament disrupted by hacks. Respawn has promised ongoing updates to enhance player security and the gameplay experience.

While the issue of account reset has caused distress among Apex Legends players, the developers are actively working to rectify the situation and ensure a smoother gaming experience for all.
