Pakistani companies triumphantly achieved a major milestone by winning 10 awards, at the prestigious Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2024, representing the largest delegation from the country to participate in APICTA and revolutionising the success in the global IT industry.

These awards include People’s Choice, Merit, and various runner-up awards from nearly 20 projects, touting the nation’s capabilities before the APICTA jury committee. Unfortunately, none of the Pakistan-based companies won any gold medals at the event.

APICTA includes 16 member economies from several countries, including Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The event is an internationally recognised platform that is pushing the boundaries of technology toward excellence, making significant strides to revolutionise the digital realm.

Pakistani participants represented a broad range of categories, including IT, startups, and academic institutions, showcasing state-of-the-art projects and highlighting the tremendous potential of Pakistan’s evolving tech industry.

The most notable point is that three Pakistanis were among the esteemed judges at APICTA 2024, including Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan, PBadar Khushnood, and Dr Usman Akram, all having served as chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) in the past.
