Apple is set to distinguish three iconic products as “vintage.” The Cupertino-based tech giant has upgraded its list of vintage and outdated products to add the iPhone X, first-generation AirPods, and original HomePod as vintage products.

Apple products are considered vintage when the company stopped selling them more than five years ago but less than seven years ago. Products are considered outdated when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than seven years ago.

Vintage Apple products are still capable of repairs. However, repairs are based on parts availability. AirPods were disclosed in September 2016 along with the iPhone 7, the first iPhone without a headphone jack. AirPods were unveiled in December and have succeeded in a full lineup of truly wireless headphones.

The HomePod was announced at WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) 2017, but it was not launched in February 2018 due to last-minute delays. It was discontinued in March 2021, before being revived with a new model in January 2023.

The users have the iPhone X, the first major redesign of the iPhone, dropping the Home button in favour of an edge-to-edge screen with Face ID. It was the first iPhone to boast an OLED screen, and it was the first iPhone to begin at $999.
