Apple has finally begun handing out payouts to those who filed their claims as part of the company’s class action lawsuit back in 2022 regarding “butterfly” MacBook keyboards.

Despite the case being ettled long ago and Apple has agreed to take a $50 million settlement without any admission of guilt, reports have emerged of people receiving their payouts.

The payouts can range from $50 to $395 for each person, with claimers being advised to get them in the next few days or by the end of this month.

For others looking to get a hold of the payout as well, unfortunately, the deadline to file a claim has gone by a long shot.

The “butterfly” problem persisted in MacBooks from 2015 to 2019, though Apple has since switched to the Scissor Switch mechanism, and no MacBook from 2019 onwards features this issue.

That all being said, the new MacBook is around the corner and though not much is known about this new addition, it will run on the M4 chipset.
