For sports enthusiasts, staying updated with the latest scores and stats can be a hassle, especially if you follow multiple teams across various leagues. Even popular apps like ESPN can sometimes complicate accessing the information you're most interested in, leading many to resort to searching for scores on a game-by-game basis.

Enter the Apple Sports app for iPhone, Apple's new solution for connecting sports fans with real-time updates on their favourite teams and leagues. It offers a free and user-friendly platform for accessing sports scores, play-by-play details, lineup information, and even live betting odds, all presented on a sleek interface organized by your preferred games.

At launch, Apple Sports supports scores and stats for the NBA, NHL, NCAA, Premier League, and MLS, which coincides with the start of the MLS season on February 21. Additionally, Apple already operates the MLS Season Pass, a streaming service on Apple TV for watching live soccer matches and related content.

When the MLB, WNBA, and NFL seasons return, Apple Sports will include scores and updates from these leagues as well. There's no information yet on Apple's plans for the Paris Olympics 2024 about the app.

If you have favourite teams in any of the supported leagues, you can track live scores and customize your view by league and team. Plus, you can follow games in real-time with Live Activity on your home screen. Exploring further, you can also check yesterday's scores, today's match schedule, and upcoming games for the week.

According to the Toms guide, the app is currently available for download on the App Store for iPhone. However, it's important to ensure your iPhone is updated to at least iOS version 17.2. While there's no version for Apple Watch, iPad, or Apple TV yet, these could be potential developments in the future.

For now, Apple Sports offers integration with Apple TV. During live games, you'll find an Apple TV button that directs you to Apple's streaming platform or to the relevant streaming app to watch the game.

Apple Sports is accessible in the U.S., the U.K., and Canada, with support for English, French, and Spanish where applicable.
