Apple likely to release AirTag 2 in 2025 with key upgrades

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch AirTag 2 by the “middle of next year.” However, it will be a redesigned version of the current one, but it will be launched with a few enhancements on the original model in three key ways, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. 

The Cupertino-based tech giant originally launched the AirTag back in 2021, after two years of anticipation and leaks.

Apple to bring upgrades in AirTag 2

Bloomberg reported that the forthcoming Apple AirTag 2 is being “progressed in manufacturing tests,” hinting towards its launch in the near future with these significant upgrades.

  1. Better range
  2. Improved wireless chip
  3. Improved privacy

Gurman further referred to the fact that an increased amount of people have efficiently utilised this device for stalking and other purposes. So, Apple is likely to address a few concerns regarding privacy, and more by bringing these advancements in AirTag 2.
