Apple is reportedly preparing to launch another iPad Air with “internal improvements” in the spring of 2025. The expected enhancements include a new Magic keyboard, upgraded display, significant chip, and more that are discussed below:

New Magic keyboard

The Cupertino-based tech giant is allegedly developing the latest Magic keyboard, particularly for iPad Air. Gurman tipped that the new Magic Keyboard will incorporate the latest function row, unlike the latest iPad Pro Magic Keyboard for iPad Air and it wouldn’t consist of an aluminium top case.

Moreover, the latest iPad Air Magic Keyboard is expected to plummet its price. Currently, the older Magic Keyboard and iPad Pro Magic Keyboard will feature a similar initial price of $299 for 11-inch and $349 for 13-inch.

Potentially upgraded display

Moreover, Apple is gearing up to work on 90Hz display technology for the iPad Air and other forthcoming Apple products.

“I have news on-screen improvements for the next generation of the M3 iPad Air. Apple is working on a higher refresh rate LCD display with a new liquid motion panel fixed at around 90Hz. They’re also working on expanding it to other models or products like a 24-inch iMac and a next-gen studio display.”

Upgraded chip

Apple is expected to integrate the M3 chip in the latest iPad Air. However, if the news turns out to be true, Apple would probably utilise the lowest binned M4 variant, along with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU to differentiate it from the iPad Pro.

Face ID

According to the latest report of Gurman, Apple is likely to add Face ID in the next generation iPad Air, as a possible upgrade. He also said that “Apple also wants to avoid making it too similar to the iPad Pro.”
