Apple Maps web version now supported on Mozilla Firefox browser

In a bid to expand its user base and attract new users to its platform, tech juggernaut Apple this week added Mozilla Firefox to the list of browsers supporting the iPhone maker's in-house navigation platform. 

While Firefox users on Mac, PC, and iPad can now use Apple Maps on the web as there's no distinction between the functionality of the Apple Maps app and Apple Maps' web version. 

Earlier when Apple Maps was not accessible on Mozilla Firefox, redirecting to it displayed an error message, stating that the Firefox browser was not a compatible browser for Apple Maps.

Browsers compatible with Apple Maps

As stated on Apple's official website, Apple Maps is supported on the following browsers:

  • Safari
  • Edge
  • Chrome
  • Firefox

Apple Maps is at the moment available in public beta form, with the stable version expected to witness its rollout soon. 

Among all one can do using Apple Maps on the web, the most notable features include directions for walking and driving directions, search for locations, places to visit, ratings and hours, and a curated set of Guides.
