Apple, a tech giant made various changes to the App Store’s guidelines last week, to ensure compliance with the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA). One of those innovations was the ability for game emulators to run on its platforms for the first time.

Citing source, Gadgets360 reported that Apple’s updated guidelines allow developers to create and distribute game emulators for iOS, along with vintage game emulator applications to provide downloaded games.

In addition, the instructions indicate that anybody who develops an emulation programme would be “responsible for all such software offered in your app, including ensuring that such software complies with these Guidelines and all applicable laws,” as according to the website, emulators may eventually only be produced by firms who control the rights to the games that may be played on them.

Moreover, Apple unveiled new “Music Streaming Services Entitlements” for apps published in the EU. These guidelines will allow music streaming applications in some locations to add links, including buy buttons, that go to an external website.
