Ahead of the launch of iOS 18, Apple has released its latest patch for iOS 17.6 .1 including some "important bug fixes."
In the past, Apple was considered a safer option for users than Android and Windows. However, recently there have been several security breaches that have caused Apple to push out new updates.
The company's main focus was on fixing the security issue. Apple described, “This update includes important bug fixes and addresses an issue that prevents enabling or disabling Advanced Data Protection designed to maintain end-to-end encryption for shared content."

Previously, when any user attempted to turn Advanced Data Protection on and it failed, they were presented with a clear error message. However, when they attempted to turn the feature off and it failed, the interface would show that the feature had been turned off, but it was still active on iCloud.
After installing iOS 17.6.1, users will be prompted to go to Settings and verify that they still wish to disable Advanced Data Protection.
