Magic Keyboard, launched in 2020, has been an innovative device among the iPad users. However, Apple is rumoured to be working on a new Magic Keyboard for the base model iPad and iPad Air.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is apparently testing a new lower-end Magic Keyboard for the base model iPad and iPad Air, this new keyboard would be cheaper and won't have a premium aluminium top case like the one that came with launching the iPad Pro lineup back in May.
Apple's new Magic Keyboard would resemble the same cheaper silicone material as the old iPad Magic Keyboards.
This new Magic Keyboard is destined to replace both the Magic Keyboard Folio introduced back in 2022 and the older Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air from 2020.

It is also expected to come with a function row, which would be new on the Magic Keyboard for iPad Air. This new Apple keyboard is expected to be released in around the middle of 2025.
Simplifying lineup of iPad Keyboards
Currently, the keyboard lineup from Apple for the iPad has become a bit confusing with several options in tow. This is going to streamline up when this new Magic Keyboard is released, as Apple would be eliminating devices to make life easier for customers buying the right keyboard for their device.
This addition is going to be part of Apple's strategy to streamline its product offerings and focus on what works best for its customers.
Upcoming Apple event
Apple plans its biggest product launch event of the year on September 10, where new iPhones, watches, and AirPods would be in the limelight.
This is quite an expected event, and fans of Apple are standing on their toes, wondering what new products and features the company would introduce for them.
