Apple and Google are reportedly gearing to announce a major partnership this fall. The tech giants' collaboration will put Google's artificial intelligence technology with Apple devices, providing users with more advanced AI capabilities to enhance the way users interact with their devices.

The announcement will likely be made along with the rollout of iOS 18, which is also expected to plug into ChatGPT and probably other AI models, including Anthropic. People will now have access to much more intelligent chatbots, as well as personalised experience enhancements. Apple is also working on its own AI tech, which will be made available soon.

The deal with Google Gemini, however, is huge development in Apple's AI strategy of giving users more intelligent, personalised experiences. Apple's software head, Craig Federighi, hinted at the partnership shortly after Apple’s WWDC 2024 keynote and suggested that the company was committed to the exploration of different AI technologies.

While Meta's Llama chatbot was apparently rejected due to low quality, however, Apple is expected to announce more AI-related collaborations. Internally it is working on its own generative AI system, Apple Intelligence, which will debut this fall in beta.

Moreover, Federighi further revealed that Apple is still going to pocket at least some AI money when it takes its in-app purchase cut of sign-ups to its AI-partners' chat bot subscriptions.

Though neither Apple nor Google has made any officially confirmation regarding the partnership, rumours are swirling that the Gemini deal could be one of the biggest tech collaborations in recent history.
