Apple is rumoured to be releasing a “total redesign” for MacBook Pro in 2026. The company has traditionally taken a four-year design cycle with MacBook Pro, but the M5 refresh will be another chip upgrade.

Recently, in a Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman stated: “The MacBook Pro probably won’t get another true overhaul until 2026.”

Earlier, Apple was targeting 2025 for the next MacBook Pro overhaul, but there were delays related to the display technology. However, the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to transition to OLED on the next major MacBook Pro refresh, borrowing from the new M4 iPad Pros.

Moreover, it’s expected that this new MacBook Pro will have a “thinner design.” Gurman indicated that the M6 chip will likely be developed on the new 2nm process, bringing new display technology, a new design, and a big performance boost, all in one refresh.
