Apple is set to be working on a more friendly-budget version of its spatial computing headset in the form of a $2,000 "Apple Vision" device that could launch as early as next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
The Cupertino-based tech giant expects this more affordable model to sell at least twice as many units as the Vision Pro, though "that's not saying much," added Gurman.
According to market tracker IDC, Apple is claimed to hit 500,000 Vision Pro sales this year. To attain the lower price point, the Apple Vision is expected to use a less powerful processor and cheaper materials than aluminium and glass.

Moreover, the device is anticipated to omit certain inessential specs, like the EyeSight display that showcases the user's eyes on the outside of the headset. Apple is also claimed to use larger, lower resolution displays for the more affordable version of the Vision Pro headset.
Apple's Vision Products Group is purportedly prioritising the development of this lower-cost option, seeing that the Vision Pro's high price and ergonomic issues have restricted its engagement with users. The team reportedly focused on producing a device with broader market potential while delivering a compelling spatial computing experience.
Moreover, Gurman's report indicated that Apple is working on a second-generation Vision Pro, expected to be released in 2026. This update would sport a faster processor, with few other hardware changes.
