Apple has finally launched iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, featuring several innovative features and a pack of the latest Apple Intelligence features, such as Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT integration, and more.

iOS 18.2 features

Here are a few latest features of iOS 18.2:

Image Playground

Image Playground allows users to generate a high-quality image from a text-based prompt, drawing upon Apple’s suggestions. However, Image Playground typically leans towards creative cartoonish and stunning images instead of photorealistic images.

It's important to note Image Playground is available both as a standalone app and integrated into Messages, Keynote, and more.

ChatGPT integration

The ChatGPT integration is arguably the most notable Apple Intelligence feature. It allows users to access the OpenAI tool from Siri or while using Apple’s Writing. A new compose tool generates text based on the user’s ongoing content, while ChatGPT’s text-to-image generation feature allows users to insert images directly into the document.

It's worth noting users don’t need a ChatGPT account to use it, but those who have an account can log in to it if they want to.

Genmoji

Genmoji lets users generate emoji photos that reflect real-life appearances. In addition, the Notes app includes an “Image Wand” which efficiently converts rough drawings into High-definition images, with a bundle of preset styles available for illustration, sketch, and animation.

Additional features in iOS 18.2

In addition to ChatGPT integration and Image Playground, iOS 18.2 introduces several other significant features including Visual Intelligence, daily sudoku puzzles in Apple News Plus, and more.

Moreover, iOS 18.2 has expanded language support including Chinese, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Localised English language support has been further expanded to Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK.

Apple plans to introduce further language support in 2025, with Apple Intelligence set to roll out in the EU at the same time.
