Both the iPhone SE 4 and Apple Watch SE have long been in the rumour mill, with countless rumours suggesting this and that about the wearable.

However, a recent leak has emerged on the surface, claiming that the next Apple Watch SE is deep in production and the iPhone maker is indulging in making it out of the plastic body.

The probable reason behind Apple's manufacturing decision could be an attempt to save costs, and no doubt that an Apple Watch SE with a “rigid plastic” body will cost way less than a regular one formed of steel or titanium.

In light of this development, some Apple Watch enthusiasts are warmly welcoming this step while others are wondering whether a plastic-based wearable would be accepted in Apple Watch tradeoffs.

Apple Watch SE 3 features

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believes that the shift from metal to plastic “could allow for a better array of colours,” for Apple.

Under the hood, the next Apple Watch SE is expected to be powered by a new and better chipset. This means that either the S9 chip from the Apple Watch Series 9 or the new S10 chip from the yet-to-release Apple Watch Series 10 will have made its way inside.

Whichever wins in securing a place, the Apple Watch SE 3 will register significant enhancement in performance.

Apple Watch SE 3 release

Considering that the Apple Watch SE 3 has been in the works for almost two years to get a refresh, it's most likely that the wearable's debut will coincide with the iPhone 16 launch.
