Apple confirmed the release date of watchOS 11 to the public at the “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9. Apple’s watchOS is set to receive AI-powered updates, while most were unveiled at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

The Translate app is said to be integrated into the latest version of watchOS, watchOS 11. Like other platforms, Translate will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) for speech recognition and translation in various languages.

Translate can work without a phone connection on the Apple Watch Series 9, Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra. The Cupertino-based tech giant said the only Apple Watch models with enough storage to install the necessary language models as you can download up to 20 models at a time.

Moreover, AI is set to enhance Smart Stack, the watchOS feature that uses contextual information to show relevant widgets. Smart Stack will soon automatically include new widgets “when you need them,” Apple said — presumably based on factors like the time of day and location.

In addition, watchOS 11 has a new “photos” watch face that’ll use machine learning to identify and curate photos from your library.
