Apple unveiled its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered video editing app — Final Cut Pro 11 — on Wednesday which is boasted with advanced new features. It also includes powerful updates to Final Cut Pro for iPad, Final Cut Camera, and Logic Pro.

Final Cut Pro sports advanced editing tools to help streamline creative workflows to enhance editor experience.

Final Cut Pro 11 features

Final Cut Pro 11 provides new tools like Magnetic Mask and the highly anticipated Transcribe to Captions, Final Cut Pro 11 for Mac1 also supports the import, editing, and delivery of spatial video projects directly to Apple Vision Pro.

Magnetic Mask allows users to crop people easily and objects out of video without having to rely on a green screen. Apple said: “This powerful and precise automatic analysis provides additional flexibility to customise backgrounds and environments.”

“Editors can also combine Magnetic Mask with colour correction and video effects, allowing them to precisely control and stylise each project,” the Cupertino-based tech giant added.

Final Cut Pro 11 other time-saving features

The new Final Cut introduces some time-saving features. Gadinsider has compiled a lineup of time-saving features of Final Cut Pro 11.

  1. Magnetic timeline: A tool to rearrange clips quickly while keeping the audio in sync with the video.
  2. Multicam editing: Users can immediately sync multiple angles of a project and switch between shots during playback. And new keyboard shortcut options let users adjust the view of their timeline and reposition clips.
  3. Optimisations for Apple silicon: It lets editors play back more streams of 4K and 8K ProRes video at full quality, add playback effects, and share their work with others at blazing speeds.
  4. Compressor: With the help of this tool, editors can create custom export settings to deliver their work in a wide range of file formats, and import previous stereoscopic footage to reformat and pair with spatial video footage.
  5. Motion: Editors can create appealing 2D and 3D titles, generators, and improved visual effects that are accessible within Final Cut Pro.

Apple says Final Cut Pro 11 was developed particularly for its first-party silicon, the M-series of chips. That includes the ability to play back more simultaneous 4K and 8K ProRes video streams.
