Apple is working on a new digital assistant called “Hero” that aims to manage the busy on-device life of users by combining artificial intelligence (AI) and some of their favourite apps.

Hero is likely to be the first voice-guided assistant on iPhone merging Google Calendar, Weather, Perplexity, Instacart and more apps within itself.

The feature’s interface first appears as a simple calendar. However, you can add events by talking to the app, quickly check the weather, or order groceries via Instacart all in one place.

Users can avail of this feature by typing and tapping also but it mainly focuses on speech controls.

Moreover, Hero also uses Perplexity, an AI chatbot, to answer queries using natural language predictive text.

People can also ask Hero questions related to local events as well as regarding recipes and can easily save them as a note for later reference.

Additionally, Hero also enables users to connect with others, showing you each other's schedules, allowing comments on notes and joint plan-making, as well as adding alerts and reminders to each other's calendars.

The app is also planning to include Sleep options, which will likely involve setting sleep schedules and reminders, plans for a trip setting, which could mean a connection with Apple Maps.

While there is no confirmed date yet this feature is likely to be out for iPhone users till the next year.
