The Sindh government has introduced a scheme to provide subsidised solar panels to low-income households, aiming to alleviate the burden of rising electricity costs.
Under this initiative, eligible families will receive financial support to install solar panels, enabling them to generate their own electricity and reduce their dependence on the grid. The programme is part of the government's broader efforts to promote renewable energy and address energy poverty in the province.
According to the details available, the Sindh government will be give solar panels to 200,000 people in the first phase through Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) across the region as 50,000 systems are set to arrive in Karachi in October.
