Asus has finally announced the official launch date for the Zenfone 11 Ultra smartphone. The unveiling will take place through a live online event in March, putting an end to the rumours about the Taiwanese tech giant potentially closing its smartphone division, which the company had previously denied. Unlike its tradition of releasing compact phones, Asus is promoting the Zenfone 11 Ultra which offers a "bigger experience."

The company confirmed the development on its social media handle by sharing a teaser image of the smartphone and revealed that it would be unveiled on March 14.
The online event is scheduled to commence at 8:00pm TST in Taipei (5:30pm IST), with event times also highlighted for Berlin (1:00pm CET) and New York (8:00am EST), hinting at a potential release in the US and Europe. However, it remains unclear whether the smartphone will be available in India.

In its post, Asus referred to the Zenfone 11 Ultra as an "AI-integrated flagship phone," suggesting that it will incorporate AI features. While the specifics of these features are unknown, they are anticipated to be comparable to AI features seen in devices like the Google Pixel 8 Pro, Samsung's Galaxy AI, and the AI features introduced in Oppo's ColorOS New Year Edition update in China.

Earlier, reports hinted at key specifications found within the ROG 8 firmware update. The Zenfone 11 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.78-inch full-HD (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) Samsung flexible AMOLED LTPO panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, or up to 144Hz in Game Genie mode when playing games.
It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 inbuilt storage. The Zenfone 11 Ultra is expected to pack a 5,500mAh battery with support for 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

The smartphone is rumoured to include a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel IMX890 primary shooter with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens offering 3X zoom capabilities. For selfies, it may feature a 32-megapixel front camera.
