In recent days, the sun has exhibited multiple significant eruptions, referred to as Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs). These CMEs are on a trajectory towards Earth and are anticipated to converge during their journey.

Initially, the Space Weather Prediction Center issued Level 1 and 2 watches in response to these solar events. However, a subsequent update has elevated the watch to a Level 3, specifically slated for Thursday night.

This heightened celestial activity could potentially yield a Kp Index rating of 7 out of 9, indicating favourable conditions for viewing. In Southern New England, levels 7 or 8 typically present optimal viewing opportunities.

Cloud cover is another pivotal factor influencing our ability to observe this cosmic phenomenon. Presently, the forecast indicates predominantly clear skies, but there is an anticipated return of clouds to the region by Friday morning.
