Baldur’s Gate 3 enthusiasts awaiting the Xbox physical edition can anticipate its launch accompanied by the installation of Patch 5 across three separate disks. Michael Douse, Director of publishing at Larian Studios, took to Twitter to share this news, highlighting the inclusion of Patch Five directly on the disks, and acknowledging the substantial lead times required for such releases. Additionally, work on a specific version for PlayStation 5 is underway but specifics remain under wraps.

Although the official release date for the Xbox version remains undisclosed, Larian Studios has confirmed that this information will be unveiled during The Game Awards on December 7.

Patch 5, scheduled for release "this week," aims to rectify several issues, including the glitch affecting Astarion's kiss animation, a persistent bug since the release of Patch 4.

Furthermore, the update will tackle incidents of thefts and violence causing performance lags. Larian explained that the problem originated from a specific bug in Moonrise Towers, resulting in a cumulative systemic error that exacerbated over time, significantly impacting gameplay.

The acclaimed RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 is also gearing up for a physical deluxe edition launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, slated for shipment in Q1 2024. For enthusiasts who missed out on the collector's edition during its initial launch, preorders are now open at $79.99 (£70). The deluxe edition boasts a physical game copy along with an assortment of bonuses like stickers, a map, a poster, an original game soundtrack, and more.
