Electric Vehicles (EVs) are the buzz in modern transportation discourse, and rightly so, as they provide largely the same driving experience, and in some aspects, even greater comfort as compared to combustion cars.

But the main selling point of EVs hinges on their fuel consumption, or lack thereof, since they do not require gasoline to run, considerably cutting down the fuel costs, saving the hassle of maintaining the engine through regular oil changes, and not polluting the environment at large.

Gadinsider has come up with a roundup of the best electric cars of 2023.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 SE Long Range RWD

The first concern that may pop up in peoples’ heads about electric cars is how efficient is the energy source. Will my car last long on the road? How long does it take to charge an average electric car?

Hence, catering to long battery life, Hyundai announced the Ioniq 6, in July of 2022, which can cruise up to 361 miles in a single drive. Combine that with a battery that supports super-fast 233kW DC charging, a fuel-efficient aerodynamic design, and a  competitive price of $46,615 and you have an endurance beast of a car that won’t fail you on the road.

Tesla Model 3 Standard Range 2023

Announced in September this year by Tesla, the pioneers of EVs, the 2023 Tesla Model 3 standard range is a safe choice that won’t cost you an arm and a leg; the price of the base model, with no add-ons, is $40,630. The car claims a max cruise range of 272 miles, the highest in this price range. Its affordability and availability of useful dashboard tech make it one of the best electric cars of 2023.

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning

Everyone agrees that pickups are the most useful vehicles across the board, and the best electric pickup truck we could find in the market is the 2023 version of the Ford F-150 Lightning, announced in April of 2022 and priced at $49,974.

The best feature about this car is the huge space in the front, because of a lack of a combustion engine, giving it even more room than is already available in the giant, but regular, F-150. The car can cruise up to 250 miles (without heavy stuff in the back), making it the best overall electric pickup.

2023 BMW iX

If you don’t have budget constraints and are looking for a top-of-the-line EV, the 2023 BMW iX is the luxury electric vehicle for you. Although the manufacturer name should alone be able to convince potential buyers of its worth ($84,100), the car’s specs spell no less than a beast when it comes to EVs.

Announced in June 2022, the BMW iX offers 307 miles of cruise range, a top speed of 124mph, and a fast charging setup of 200kW. Coupled with these specs is a sporty, elegant design and lots of tech features, provides a comfortable drive and makes you look classy while doing so.
