The Blackmagic Camera app on iPhone has received a new update, bringing multiple new features for iOS users, including the support for the iPhone 16’s Camera Control feature.
The new update follows the Blackmagic Camera version 2.0, which introduced native support for iPad back in August.
What’s new in Blackmagic Camera 2.1 for iPhone?
The Blackmagic Camera has been updated to version 2.1. With support for the Camera Control feature on iPhone 16 models, users can now adjust settings such as control zoom, exposure, focus, and ISO by sliding the Camera Control button.

The Blackmagic Camera 2.1 version also adds the ability to launch the app from the Control Center, Lock Screen, or using the Camera Control button.
Additionally, it also added support for DockKit-compatible iPhone devices, including the Insta360 Flow Pro gimbal, providing more flexibility for shooting.
The new update also introduced higher bitrate recording options for H.264 and H.265, meaning users can now reduce the storage requirements of their videos without relying on ProRes and sacrificing the video quality.
For those unfamiliar, Blackmagic Camera is available on the App Store and supports an iPhone XR or running iOS 17 or later.
