AI has been the buzzword of last year, and it seems like 2024 will see its hype, in IT and business communities alike, grow even further. CES is primed for its annual showing in Las Vegas from January 9-12, and from the looks of it, the unofficial theme of this year’s event will be AI.
Sam Altman, founder of OpenAI and Kickstarter of the AI craze, will not make an appearance at the CES. Despite that, this year’s CES is all set to be AI-centric, according to Reuters.
"It's the year of AI in everything," said tech analyst, Maribel Lopez. "If you don't have AI in your product, don't show up, it's not worth talking about."

Funding for generative AI projects exploded last year, surging more than fivefold to $23.78 billion through the beginning of December 2022, according to PitchBook data.
According to PitchBook data, AI projects collected $23.78 billion in funds last year, more than five times the year before that.
Many companies have revealed their scheduled topics for the CES. Former CES award winner, Bosch, German engineering and tech company, will speak on AI and cybersecurity at the event. The Japanese tech firm, NEC, will unveil AI-based software that enables mobile companies to gather and detect human vitals and mental state by studying face patterns and pupils.
Another huge industry where AI has penetrated is the automotive industry, and many companies will be talking about their AI advancements at the upcoming show. Cerence, an American software manufacturer that focuses on AI, will announce its partnership with Volkswagen. Amazon is also expected to announce their partnership with BMW on the common ground of generative AI.

Computer manufacturers are also dipping their hands in the AI river, with Microsoft’s announcement on January 4 that Windows keyboards with a new AI button will be revealed at the event.
