Changan Deepal S07 and L07: Undergoes testing in Pakistan

Master Changan Motors is preparing to test their new electric car  the Deepal S07 SUV and L07 Sedan in Pakistan, which has shown up at Changan Autos dealership for testing, giving a first look at these new electric cars.

Deepal, an EV-first brand by Changan, is the product of a joint venture with Huawei, the South Korean tech giant, and CATL, the world’s leading battery maker. 

Huawei has designed and developed the vehicle’s operating system, Harmony OS 4, which runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155.

What's Deepal is working on?

A lime yellow Deepal S07 SUV was recently noticed in Karachi at Port Qasim, close to the Master Changan Motors Limited plant. This proximity to the plant indicated that the new SUV is undergoing road tests before its official release in Pakistan.

These sightings have incited interest among automotive enthusiasts, hinting at the imminent release of Deepal’s twin electric vehicles (EVs) from Master Changan Motors Limited. 

However, official information is not yet revealed. Deepal Pakistan's social media handles have been officially released on Facebook and Instagram.

Deepal L07 Sedan

The Deepal L07 Sedan, a mid-sized car, measures 4820 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. It sports R19 wheels and a ground clearance of 150 mm, placing it in the same category as the Hyundai Sonata. 

Deepal L07 2024 price in Pakistan is estimated to begin from PKR 17,000,000. This estimated price is ex-factory and does not add freight, taxes, and other documentation charges.

The electric cars boasted a 68kWh battery from CATL, likely to provide a range of over 530 kilometres on a single charge. Both electric cars have 250 horsepower and can escalate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.

Deepal S07 SUV

Meanwhile, the Deepal S07 SUV measures 4750 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1625 mm in height, with a similar wheelbase of 2900 mm. This SUV, wider than the Santa Fe and Fortuner but shorter in height, has 20-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 165 mm.

Both electric cars have been designed by Bertrand Bach, an ex-General Motors veteran famous for his work on Lamborghini designs. The exterior design of the Deepal models houses frameless doors and a “Fastback” sporty stance on the L07 Sedan, blending futuristic and premium sports aesthetics. 

Deepal S07 price in Pakistan is estimated to begin from PKR 15,000,000. This estimated price is ex-factory and does not add freight, taxes, and other documentation charges.

Master Changan Motors Limited still has to confirm the launch date for Deepal L07 Sedan and Deepal S07 SUV, while rumours indicated that the release might take place within the next two to three months.
