Changan Pakistan has announced a new variant of its loader automobile, M9 Sherpa as the automotive industry of Pakistan is shaking things up gradually.
Initially, it was Indus Motor Company (IMC) with the promotional price reduction in Corolla Cross, then Honda Atlas unveiled a special 7 update package for the Honda City 1.2L CVT.
Gadinsider has compiled details of the latest introduction by Master Changan Motors (MCM).
Changan M9 Sherpa (new variant)
According to the details, the automobile assembler would hold a soft release of the new M9 Sherpa, which is set to be recognised as “Sherpa Power 1.2L.” The name indicates that the new entrant will have a 1200cc engine with 5-speed manual transmission.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that the current M9 has a 1000cc engine. The second improvement in the new variant is power steering, which is not offered in the current 1.0L M9 Sherpa.
Changan M9 Sherpa price
The price of Changan M9 Sherpa is set to be available with an introductory price of Rs2,254,000. Meanwhile, the current price of 1.0L M9 is Rs2,179,000. Customers can receive a bigger engine and power steering at an additional Rs75,000.
Changan M9 features
The overall length of the M9 Sherpa is 4560mm, with a width of 1645mm and a height of 1890mm, along with a wheelbase of 2900mm.
The Changan M9 Sherpa sports a 3-point safety belt and steering lock for safety purposes. The M9’s tyre size is 175/70R, and the rim size is 14 inches. While the fuel tank capacity is 40 litres.
The Changan automobile has Disc/Drum brakes at the front and rear, with a vacuum booster.
Additionally, the front suspension is Macpherson-independent, and the rear suspension is Leaf Spring-dependent. The M9 Sherpa’s cargo box length is 2750mm, while the width is 1520mm, and the height is 370mm.
The significant features of the Changan M9 Sherpa are a speaker, cupholder, driver and front passenger sun visor, Radio/AUX/Clock, body-coloured side-view mirrors, and optional fog lamps.
