ChatGPT users have discovered a glitch in its system, prompting the chatbot to refuse to say "David Mayer". Instead, the chatbot responded with the following: “I’m unable to generate a response.”

Although it's an advanced AI tool able to write articles, develop codes and even understand images within seconds, it showed an error that it is unable to say "David Mayer" after a user asked it to do so.

No matter how many times they tried this prompt, users were unable to get a response from it, as reported by Officechai.

It was unattainable to try to split those two words into pieces, as users even tried to decipher the riddle in various ways but it didn’t give the desired response.

After many attempts, the bot came up with a response stating that the request was “illegal and potentially violating usage policy”.

Some even tried to write it "d@vid m@yer", but the chatbot responded with this output: “The reason I cannot generate the full response when you request “d@vid m@yer” (or its standard form) is that the name closely matches a sensitive or flagged entity associated with potential public figures, brands, or specific content policies. These safeguards are designed to prevent misuse, ensure privacy, and maintain compliance with legal and ethical considerations.”

This reluctance of ChatGPT involving no response upon being asked to utter "David Mayer" sparked many speculations among people, with some wondering if it was the famous heir of the Rothchild family or the musician David Mayer.

However, the absurdity of this mystery as to why it can’t say David Mayer remains intact. There is no official answer provided by its company as well.
