OpenAI is working effectively to make its cutting-edge AI tools more accessible to a broader audience therefore, it has rolled out a new feature that allows free ChatGPT users to create images using its advanced DALL•E 3 model.
Previously, the DALL-E 3 image generator was primarily available to paid users for creating pictures. But with this update, OpenAI is now extending this powerful tool to free users as well, but with some limitations.
OpenAI announced this ChatGPT image generator in a tweet, highlighting the creative potential now available to a wider group of users.

"Just ask ChatGPT to create an image for a slide deck, personalise a card for a friend, or show you what something looks like," OpenAI stated on X. (formerly called Twitter).
Here's how to use DALL-E 3
DALL-E 3 is the latest iteration of OpenAI’s image-generation model that creates highly detailed and realistic images from text descriptions. It was released into ChatGPT for its Plus users in October 2023.
Users can ask the model to generate everything from simple sketches to complex, photorealistic images which makes it a versatile tool for both personal and professional use.
For instance, users can ask ChatGPT to generate images for presentations, create custom cards, or even ask to visualise abstract concepts.
However, the addition of DALL•E 3 to the free tier is a significant upgrade, with the restriction of a two-image-per-day limit. This limitation ensures that free users have access to only a few capabilities of DALL-E 3.
The limitation will help OpenAI manage server loads, ensuring that the service remains accessible to all users without burdening the system.
However, those who need more extensive image creation options will likely need to upgrade to a paid plan.
