During her eight-day visit to China which began on December 8, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz urged JinkoSolar, a renowned solar panel manufacturer, to establish a production facility in Pakistan.
While meeting the key official of the Shanghai-based solar technology provider, she found the company's portfolio to be impressive, highlighting the role it has played in revolutionising the lanscape of solar energy-oriented technologies.
While fostering an ecosystem of advancement to provide users with reliable and affordable solar solutions, the solar energy juggernaut also undertakes environment-friendly policies, she noted.
The Punjab CM stated that Pakistan possesses immense potential to offer growth and expansion for JinkoSolar, as reported by Geo.tv.
She made these remarks while stressing the establishment of a production unit which, she believes, will pay off a good deal in view of the consistently rising demand of solar panels in Pakistan.
Considering the ever-worsening atmosphere of the Punjab region, marked by the smog crisis, she maintained that the government is making efforts to widen the scope of solar technologies.
She also recounted a programme, recently kicked off in Punjab, to provide solar panels for free to households utilising 200 units or less in a month.
