Apple is expected to release a new version of iOS 17.5 in the coming weeks, two months back its iOS 17.4 version was launched which included some of the biggest changes in an iOS release history. Where iPhone users were able to access the third-party app stores along with improved stolen device protection and battery cycle count.

Before the upcoming Apple iOS 17.5 version releases iPhone users must update their devices with the iOS 17.4.1 version or else they will miss out on the following amazing features:

Downloading other app stores in the EU

With iOS 17.4, Apple has made one of the largest changes to its App Store since its launch by adding a change to Safari, with this version users can download an alternative app store and apps from outside the App Store. Through this update users will be given new default app controls, giving them more options to customise their device.

More in-app payment options

Apple announced more ways to make in-app payments with iOS 17.4 alongside the changes for users in the EU, and there’s no word on whether this will used by apps outside that region.

100 new emoji

The upgrade on emoji was announced in 2023 for some Android devices including the latest Samsung phones. With the update of iOS 17.4, Apple has introduced over 100 new emojis for iPhone users including a slice of lime, a phoenix, and handshaking up and down or left and right.

Improved iMessage security

To protect iPhone users from cyber attacks, iOS 17.4 will update the iMessage chats to overcome the potential of cybersecurity threats.

Podcasts transcripts

In the latest version of Apple iOS 17.4, users can read podcast transcripts while listening. The iOS users can also search within the transcript.

Stolen device protection:

With the iOS 17.4 update, the user can choose whether they need a one-hour security deal to access certain settings or make changes.

Battery health count

Battery Health update in the iOS 17.4 version will show the battery cycle count, manufacture date, and first use on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.
