Uninstalling programmes from Windows 10 seems quite a complex process than simply dragging them to the recycle bin. If the user is looking to uninstall Windows apps, here's how they can do it properly.
Steps to uninstall programmes in Windows 10
- Open the 'Start Menu' by clicking on the lower left-hand corner icon. In the primary sidebar, locate the 'Settings' option, represented by a gear icon, and select it. Use the search box if the user is not able to find settings in the sidebar.
- In the 'Settings' menu, find and click on the 'Apps' icon, identified by a list-like symbol. Doing this will open the 'Apps & Features' window.
- The 'Apps and Features' window displays a list of all the programmes currently installed on the computer.
- Once the user has located the programme they wish to uninstall, select it. This will provide the user with information such as the app's size, developer, and installation date. Additionally, a prominent grey button labeled 'Uninstall' will appear next to the move option.
- Click on 'Uninstall' to initiate the process. Windows will proceed to remove the programme from the operating system.
However, in some cases, the Uninstall button may be greyed out. This signifies that the programme is a system app deemed too crucial for Windows to delete. If the user encounters this situation, double-check that the user has selected the correct app.
