As showcased at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple's Emergency SOS Live Video calls feature on iOS 18 is on the way.
The feature would allow iPhone users to do both: share a recorded video or have a live video call with 911 operators so they can better understand the surroundings.
Although the latest iOS update is yet to be released, two of the enterprises that offer connectivity to 911 services have nodded in favour of supporting the Emergency SOS Live Video calls by this fall.

"In the middle of an emergency call, participating emergency dispatchers can send a request for a user to share live video or media from the user’s camera roll over a secure connection, making it easier and faster to get help," said Apple.
The availability of this feature is a definite indication of how huge of a change it will bring to people's lives in terms of getting help when in trouble.
With the Emergency SOS feature fully functioning in an iPhone, 911 operators will be able to have the exact extent of fire or any trouble a person is encountering.
While it bears resemblance to a feature already being tested in the UK, it would let operators see whether a user can send recorded footage or have a live call, as well as send a video call invite to users.
As reported by 9to5Mac, RapidSOS and Prepared are the emergency platforms in the US that have agreed so far to support Apple's Emergency SOS Videl call feature.
