Final Fantasy 14 fans have something to look forward to as the highly anticipated crossover event with Final Fantasy 16 kicks off today. A plethora of exciting rewards, such as exclusive mounts, minions, and gear inspired by Final Fantasy 16, are promised by this collaboration between the well-liked MMO and the most recent instalment of the renowned RPG series.
Announced by Naoki 'Yoshi-P' Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy 14 and producer of Final Fantasy 16, during last year's Final Fantasy Fan Fest in London, fans of both games have eagerly awaited this crossover event.
Players can embark on a level 50 quest that offers gear inspired by FF16 protagonist Clive Rosfield, including distinctive armour sets and the loyal wolfhound mount, Torgal, in both rideable and minion forms.
In addition to the headline rewards, players can also obtain a Clive Triple Triad card and orchestration rolls featuring music from Final Fantasy 16's stunning soundtrack, composed by FF14 composer Masayoshi Soken. The Path Infernal event draws inspiration from Clive's connection to the fire deity Ifrit, adding an extra layer of thematic depth to the crossover experience.
For those who haven't yet had the chance to experience Final Fantasy 16, there's no need to worry about spoilers, as Yoshida reassures players that the crossover event won't spoil "much" of FF16's story. Players have until May 8th to complete the quest and collect all the rewards, providing ample time to enjoy the crossover content.
To begin this exciting adventure, players can start the quest "A Land on Fire" in Ul'dah's Steps of Nald. However, it's important to note that players must be level 50 and have completed the main scenario quest "The Ultimate Weapon" from the base game A Realm Reborn to participate in the event.
