Firefox, an alternative browser to Google Chrome, offers several built-in features including website translations, pinned tabs, picture-in-picture support, browser extensions, support for add-ons and more.

However, in July, the search giant on Android gained streamlined password management with unified sign-ins via Passkey support with Firefox 128.

Later, in August, Firefox 129 made it easier to use HTTP/3 connections as it removed the need to turn on the domain name system (DNS) over the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) setting.

Latest upgrades on Mozilla Firefox

With the latest upgrade, as part of Firefox 130 for Android, Mozilla Firefox is streamlining passwords on the browser, alongside other enhancements within the browser.

The search giant addressed these updates in the release notes, revealing that Firefox users on Android can now use the browser to load web pages faster. The browser achieved this upgrade by allowing more webpage resources to be downloaded simultaneously.

However, another significant upgrade is that the browser finally has a built-in password generator, enabling users to create strong passwords that are hard to get hacked.

Coming in competition with Chrome and its password manager, this upgrade will automatically prompt users to generate a password whenever they're signing up for a new account online.

It’s important to note that this functionality has long been provided on the Firefox for the web, and has finally been introduced on the browser's Android app. This built-in tool will help to eliminate the need for third-party extensions like Bitwarden or 1Password.

Furthermore, Firefox 130 has also introduced translation support for more languages. Now, the browser supports translations for a total of 28 languages.
