The Fitbit app, known for tracking fitness and health, could soon come pre-installed on more Android phones. Oppo’s latest Find X8 series is the first non-Google Android phone to include Fitbit as part of the standard Google app bundle.
This means users will see Fitbit in the familiar “Google” app folder on their homescreen instead of Google Fit, which is not included on these devices.
Android phones usually come with a range of Google apps like Chrome, Gmail, YouTube, and Google Maps. With Oppo's Find X8 and X8 Pro, Fitbit joins this list, signalling a new trend in pre-installed apps for health tracking.

Google has made the Fitbit app available to Android manufacturers since earlier this year. However, Oppo is the first to ship devices with Fitbit as the default fitness tracker.
This change shows a shift in focus towards health and wellness, as more companies look to add value for users. Fitbit’s advanced fitness tracking features, including heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and step counting, are some of the app’s highlights.
Reportedly, rumours suggested more Android phones could start featuring Fitbit preloaded in the coming months, enhancing fitness options for new users. If you buy a new phone, don’t be surprised to find Fitbit already installed, even if you don’t restore data from an old device.
