In January, alongside the launch of the Galaxy S24 series smartphones, Samsung introduced its Galaxy AI capabilities. Initially exclusive to the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, these features are now set to become available across a broader range of Samsung devices.

Samsung has recently announced plans to extend Galaxy AI features to additional models, making them accessible beyond the Galaxy S24 series.

Starting March 28, Samsung will commence the rollout of the One UI 6.1 update, which integrates the Galaxy AI features. The update will be available for:

  • Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

Furthermore, the update will also reach the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9 Plus, and Tab S9 (Wi-Fi versions), beginning this week.

Galaxy AI encompasses several AI-driven features. A notable inclusion is Google’s Circle to Search feature, enabling users to draw a circle around any screen content for an instant Google Search. This feature is designed for speed and convenience.

Also within Galaxy AI are real-time translation tools for calls and face-to-face conversations, advanced AI photo editing options, and summarization tools for voice memos and notes. There is also a feature aimed at adjusting the tone of your typed messages using AI, though this one might be less essential.

Samsung has stated that its Galaxy AI features will remain free until the end of 2025, hinting at a potential subscription model thereafter. Details regarding the pricing or the exact timing in 2026 when charges may apply have not been disclosed yet.

For those owning the mentioned Samsung phones or tablets, stay tuned for the One UI 6.1 update and the suite of Galaxy AI features it brings.
