SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday announced some additional benefits — new “premium features” — for the users of X (formerly knowns as Twitter).
Since the takeover in October 2022, the 52-year-old billionaire has introduced several changes for the users including paid verified badges, increased word limit, and live feed.
However, it was learnt that the new features will be accessed by some X users for free of cost.
Taking to his own platform, Musk announced: “Going forward, all X accounts with over 2500 verified subscriber followers will get Premium features for free and accounts with over 5000 will get Premium+ for free.”
Premium+ users have larger access as they can use the artificial intelligence (AI) model Grok which is reported to answer almost anything. The premium+ costs $16 a month.
Since the billionaire carried out changes, a large number of people were anticipating to leave X and turn to other platforms such as Bluesky or Meta-owned Threads however, reports show that the alternative platforms met limited success.
