Google Calendar is reportedly gearing up to refresh the app by adding new artistic backgrounds, according to a report.

With its built-in interface and features, Google Calendar is Android users’ go-to app designed to let users manage their events, appointments and other tasks effectively. The app also allows adding important dates, including friends, family, and loved ones’ birthdays.

Google Calendar's new 'Event Flairs'

Earlier, Google added fun graphics called "event flairs" within the Calendar app to enhance the overall look and feel. Although it was a minor change it helped make the user experience more interesting when scrolling through the daily schedule.

However, now, the search giant appears to be bringing these colourful banners to even more types of events, adding even more colours to your calendar.

An APK teardown of the Google Calendar version 2024.38.0-677549254 revealed the latest update to the app introducing new backgrounds, called “flairs” that will include new types of events, such as a train ticket and an updated imagery for the 12 months of the year and birthdays.

These new backgrounds are currently exclusive to a select group of users. While the official rollout remains uncertain, this revamped design brings a subtle yet aesthetic touch to the app for the general public once it's widely available.
