Google Pakistan is celebrating the country’s 77th Independence Day on Wednesday with a special mango-inspired doodle to mark the auspicious occasion.
Typically, the Alphabet-owned search engine features a doodle spelling out its name using its signature colours and design. However, the company occasionally changes its doodle to celebrate significant events or occasions.
When users click or tap on the redesigned doodle, they are directed to a Google webpage that provides detailed information related to Pakistan's Independence Day.
Today, Google has altered its regular doodle to commemorate Pakistan's Independence Day. The doodle spells out Google’s name in white against a green background, surrounded by traditional Pakistani art featuring mangoes.
But why mangoes? Pakistan is renowned for producing exceptional quality mangoes, known worldwide for their enticing aroma and explosion of juicy sweetness.
The new doodle adds a fun and traditional touch to the site. By clicking on it, users are taken to a webpage featuring all the information related to Pakistan's Independence Day: from national songs and the history of Pakistan’s founding to videos, updates, and news articles related to the day.
On this new webpage, users may also notice a different doodle in the top-left corner, where a Pakistani flag replaces the double "O’s" in "Google."
