Google has upgraded its Play System Update as of July 1, bringing a host of new features, as outlined in the monthly Google System Release Notes.
This new update has introduced improvements in Play Services, Play Store, and Play System Updates across Android phones, tablets, Wear OS, Android/Google TV, Auto, and PC. Some updates apply at the user end, while others are aimed at developers.
These updates primarily affect Google System's first-party apps, including Adaptive Connectivity Services, Android System Intelligence, Android TV Core Services, Android WebView, Setting Services, and Sim Manager.
Key features of the update
Play Store Version 41.7: Google Play Protect: Install-time protection now allows users to send new apps for a full threat analysis. This aims to ensure all potential threats are identified and resolved before causing any harm to the system.
Remote Lock: This feature lets users lock their stolen device by making a call to a number and passing a 'quick security challenge,' which Google claims is faster than logging into your account on another device.
Additional improvements
The update brings enhancements across various Google services and applications, ensuring better performance and security.
Some updates apply immediately, while others will roll out gradually and become accessible worldwide over time.
These improvements are part of Google's ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and security across its ecosystem.
