Google's Circle to Search, a new feature that enables searching with a long press of the home button, is expected to gain a new capability that will allow it to scan barcodes and QR codes, making it even more useful.

This new feature will allow users to scan any barcodes and QR codes available on the screen, providing a link to the main website.

Moreover, this new feature will also include text-to-speech capabilities, allowing users to read the selected part of any text. According to Android Authority, this feature was first spotted in the Samsung Galaxy series.

However, the Circle to Search feature itself has been derived from Google Lens, another feature of Google that can scan QR codes and barcodes, according to their Product Manager, Erin Lynch, and Director of Product Management, Alistair Pott.

Similarly, this feature will provide users with safety by showing them results/links before scanning. Although its limited availability is still a major drawback.
