Google, the Alphabet-owned company, has been streamlining movies and TV show purchases and rents on multiple platforms.
However, it recently decided to limit these purchases to YouTube and make them incompatible with Google TV
Given that, the company has also announced that all the older purchases would still be approachable through the Google TV app and implemented over future purchases.
The Alphabet-owned company has also initiated bringing this change which is expected to be integrated for all the users in some time but, till then users would be able to make other purchases through Google TV.

Moreover, Google has been under the spotlight for some time now to consolidate movie and TV show purchases across platforms.
The tech giant did once more decide to stop Play Store’s Movies & TV shows section in 2022 while making an announcement about Google TV, which would be a default destination for all purchases on mobile.
However, users had multiple options to rent and purchase movies, such as the Google TV app, the Shop tab on Android TV devices, and YouTube. However, now all the transactions have been limited to only a single platform which is YouTube.
