How Google Maps works offline on Wear OS

If the latest Google Maps update is installed on the device, users will find a new offline maps option in the app’s settings located at the bottom of the app.

On opening the app it will show a prompt explaining how the offline maps on the phone are auto-downloaded to the watch.

Additionally, users can also see how much space the downloaded maps are occupying and can even delete them if required. These maps are automatically synced when your device is connected to Wi-Fi.

The feature also includes the new "Find and Go" option that provides direct access to users’ important routes such as Home or Work shortcuts. A microphone icon is also placed on the Google Maps Wear OS app’s home screen for voice input.

The feature is available in version 11.140.0701.W of Google Maps for Wear OS and has already begun rolling out to Pixel Watch users.
