Google Messages is rumoured to let users send high-quality pictures over rich communication services (RCS) soon. Meanwhile, it is noticed that this feature is currently available for certain beta users.

It is relatable to the high-definition (HD) image-sharing option that WhatsApp offers, where a user can select to send an image in a standard version with maximum compression or an HD option with lesser compression.

Google Messages HD image-sharing feature

According to Android Authority, Google Messages is said to check a feature to let users share images with little to no compression. The report stated that an HD and an HD+ option were spotted in the Photo Picker of the app in the latest Messages beta (version messages.android_20241029_00_RC00.phone_samsung_openbeta_dynamic).

Once you have selected the resolution that you want to share the image in, the icon for the same will be displayed on the bottom right of the image with a checkmark on it. Notably, the feature is reported to be integrated into all Messages users soon.
