During the Galaxy S24 launch event, Samsung introduced the cutting-edge 'Circle to Search' feature, an innovation that redefines the smartphone experience, which was later adopted by Google Pixel devices.

While the feature is limited to select Samsung Galaxy and Pixel devices only, recent rumours suggest that Circle to Search might be expanded to a broader range of devices.

"Circle to Search" coming to Tecno

According to reports, Google is planning to end the exclusivity of Circle to Search soon by expanding it to other Android devices.

Reportedly, the Circle to Search feature will be available on Tecno’s recently launched foldable smartphone, the Phantom V Fold 2.

Notably, the Chinese company recently introduced its “AI Vision,” a holistic approach related to artificial intelligence (AI) features that helps to increase productivity.

Here’s how "Search to Circle" works

The Circle to Search lets users quickly search for items without switching the app or leaving the current activity. It works similarly to Google Lens, but also scans objects displayed on the phone screen.

For instance, if a user is scrolling through an e-commerce website and comes across a product they liked, hold down the home button or navigation bar, draw a border around the item, and access more details about the product, including shopping links.

While the search giant has been working to enhance the feature, it recently added a Shazam-like Song Search feature to Circle to Search, allowing users to identify audio playing on their smartphones or around them.

Google during its I/O 2024 conference revealed its goal to have this feature available on 200 million devices by the end of 2024 while which other devices will receive support for the feature is yet to be confirmed.
